The best thing about Instagram is how it brings people together, paths crossing that really would never have happened without the intervention of this mighty app. Natasha from @takingamomentintime contacted me out of the blue to contribute to a retreat she was putting together, in the Scottish Highlands. Initially I was completely up for a trip and retreat there but when I realised it was a 10+ hour drive, plus work committments on either side of the time away I concluded in an email that I couldn’t come. The very short response I got back was ‘don’t give up so easiliy’ which, after having now met Natasha is a motto she very much lives by, I’m very inspired by her ethos that if she wants to do something the best way forward is not to over think things!
So I flew to Inverness and I’m really glad I did.
It was a pleasure to share a little food photography and styling knowledge and watch and learn styling ideas from Dean & Jeska – The Future Kept, plus crochet with Kat Goldin, discuss Instagram with Ali Dover, hear about Olaiya’s Cultural & Photography Tours in Paris & Portugal and Stephania’s online concept store, specialising in one off rare pieces. The out of hours discussions, chat and constant laughing was a real highlight and created some of my favourite memories of the time away. As well as a trip to a local distillery and a day of exploring Skye. Natasha & Ramona created a wonderful menu and looked after us so well. Assynt House was a completely indulgent hideaway, the bedrooms a luxury and I thoroughly enjoyed the completely silent nights. Natasha has lots of incredible sounding retreats in the pipeline, I’d highly recommend taking a spot and getting away from it all, even for just a few days.
Thank you Natasha for having me x
