Hello 2018

How do you articulate the ending of one year and the unfolding of a fresh new one? I love that clean slate feeling, that renewed energy and enthusiasium that the final months of the previous year seems to drain and sap away. I dislike the move from Autumn to Winter  this particular seasonal change really affects me, not because of the lack of light for images but the lack of light for my soul. Each year we throw around the idea of going somewhere warm but each year we stick with tradition and fall into the usual Christmas pattern. Nothing wrong with that, we’ve had a lovely time with family and last minute visits from friends but I eagerly look forward to clearing away the Christmas decorations and starting afresh, with all the hope and energy that a new year brings.

But before we look forward, I just wanted to share a little round up of the good things that happened in 2017, of course there were downs and I’ve been processing what didn’t work so well and how I can change that moving forward, particularly my always saying YES to things before thinking them through and determining whether this is actually a good use of my time. A freelancers problem I think?!

Anyway before we move on to the new, here’s some of our 2017 highlights.
